I am having the most bizarre problem in the history of problems. Yesterday, I was using Mediaportal happily and with no problems. Today, when I try to open it, even directly from the executable, only the configuration utility will open, instead. Of course, my automatic backup system chose the same day to break down.

I have reinstalled Mediaportal, then even done a complete uninstall/cleanup, and reinstalled again. None of these desperate actions had any impact on the problem...every attempt to open Mediaportal results in the configuration screen, instead. Help!

I am posting now without logs in the hope of a quick response. I will edit the post in a moment to include logs.

EDIT: Actually, the log file is completely empty.

SOLVED: OK, the Mediaportal.xml file was missing. I don't know why. Fortunately, there was a .bak of it, so all is back as it should be. Now to solve the backups problem!
