Hi folks, this is my first post so thanks in advance for any help you can provide me in figuring out MediaPortal!

I'm interested in setting up MediaPortal using Foobar2000 as my audio player (it supports kernel streaming for true 44.1kHz output) but I also need to support several iPods that my wife and I have, preferably without using iTunes at all.

There are a few things I'd like to be able to do:

1. Create iPod-compatible playlists using MP's great interface, and be able to sync those playlists (and the music they reference) with different iPods.

2. Plug in a friend's iPod and be able to browse its contents from MP, playing music and video directly from the iPod without having to copy files first.

If anyone has any tips on how I can accomplish those goals it would be greatly appreciated, as that's the last stumbling block I need to get over before I dive into MediaPortal!

    Hello and welcome Karson,

please do a forums-search. There are some Ipod/Itunes-related threads. At the moment there is afaik no complete solution. But some other guys are working on an Ipod-Plugin.

    Regards,

Thanks Paloema, rest assured I searched and found lots of info on using MediaPlayer WITH iTunes, but I couldn't find much about using MediaPlayer with iPods but WITHOUT iTunes (although I found info about using MP with Foobar2000 with the iPod plugin and other configurations that don't quite do what I need to).

Thanks for the tip on the iPod plugin though, I'm going to see what I can find out about it!
