Cool, now we only need someone to port the PowerScheduler plug-in so it can be user as a TVServer plug-in. Then scheduled recordings would not be missed.

I do thing booting/resuming from hibernation are not good scenarios, but a resume from S3 seems like a nice option.

embedding the keep-alive packet handling (along with a more robust powerscheduler solution) into the mediaportal core would be a much more suitable solution. When the TV server is finalized I may give a try at porting such a code in a plugin. IMO it would be smarter to wait until the TV core & API is stabilized. For one I don't know how the client reacts when the server is not yet ready.

    all hail frodo et al.

Agree, altough I don't really know PowerScheduler so don't why it would need to be more robust.

But I think at least the plug-in infrastructure should be stable right now, or at least we should try it to see how it could be improved and tell frodo before it becomes harder to change.

I'm starting to think about asking frodo to add some more extra messages in the TVServer so more things can be done by the plugins. ;)

Question? Would it be good enough, at least for now, to have something like Windows MCE does? By that I mean, leaving the hibernation/suspendning in charge of Windows Power Options, and just the resume as a software responsability?

If PowerScheduller does a good job bringing the system out of suspention (I don't know, I'am asking), maybe porting can be easier.

    Any opinions?
