....when i enact S3 (STR) and I am watching TV in full-screen mode, my PC enters an unusual state - the TV screen goes blank, the PC 'shuts down', the lights and fan stay on, and i have to do a hard boot to get my PC back online.

In all other circumstances, S3 works really well....even when watching TC in non full-screen mode its good.

Sometimes in full-screen TV mode its OK, but most of the time, its not so flash at going to sleep, and enters unusual state as above.

    Do i need powerscheduler?

    Cheers

    Geoff

    Do i need powerscheduler?

You do if you want to wake up for recording and then go back to sleep afterwards.

Do not know much about the HVR2200 regarding how its drivers handle standby, you may or may not need the reinitiliase tuners\tvservice enabled, remember you will need both the powerscheduler and powerscheduler client plugin enabled to work correctly.

Also if you need the pc for other use, enable programs in the powerscheduler exception list in the processes tab, ie firefox etc.

thanks for reply....i'm quite keen to get the basic sleep (STR) working before embarking on PS route.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.
