    isn't that a confusing title? didn't know what else to write.... (-;

    My Problem is, that we are in fact using DVB-S @ home. For lack of an external DVB-S device (i'm using a notebook so there is no chance for an internal one) i use my Medion DVB-T device to view TV by connecting it via Scart <--> SVHS with my DVB-S tuner i normally use for my TV. This is the only chance to view TV on my Beamer.

    As MP's greatest fan i want to use that "snarl" in MP too, but i'm not capable of gettin it to work. MP finds my card without problems and i tried any combination of CVBS / SVHS / RGB with add channel etc.. there's just a black screen in MP/TV.
    with dscaler or VLCplayer it just works fine. what else can i do??

    edit: to specify the used card, MP found: "MEDION BDA Digital Capture (Medion SAA7134 DVB-T)" it's a PCMCIAA card

    thanks for your answer in the first place.

    i understand that my card is in fact already supported. a friend of mine with the same card got it already running - (he as standard cable tv).

    my problem is just to integrate the SVHS signal from the card as a channel in MP wich is just not working. It's hard to get the right specifications from my TV-device because it seems to be an OEM version not for regular sale and i don't know for sure with wich regular one it is compatible..

    i checked th list in the wiki and my card appears there:

    https://www.team-mediaportal.com/dokuw/install/capturecards/start

    Medion SAA7134 DVB-T . it's just PCMCIAA instead of PCI. so it shoul be supported i thought? it's just that i can't use the SVHS input due to the fact that i'm not capable of receiving DVB-T but DVB-S. i would consider buying a external DVB-S device but noone can say wich one (expect from this firewire device which is too expansive for me) is fully supported.

    Hi smnnekho

    Sorry your wrong that is a PCI card and most probably has its own driver set. just because it uses the same philips chipset does not make it identical.

    Follow Dman's instructions and get it added in it's own individual right.

    well i followed Dmans advice (some time ago) and it should have been implemented as i understand. in addition to the "MEDION BDA Digital Capture (Medion SAA7134 DVB-T)" wich i were always able to chose in MP after that a MEDION BDA ANALOGUE capture (medion7134 analouge) appeared. when i select this one, he sais that the graph can't be createt...

    i don't know what to do. is it possible that my details send to dman were wrong (@DMAN??) if thats the case i'm sorry, but i don't know what to do though.

    still i just want to use my DVB-T hybrid cart'S S-Video-IN to connect my DVB-S Tunerbox with my notebook...

    edit: btw, there is no exception when i choose the first device. but in MP it says: timeshift could not be activated, tuning details for "%channel_name%" not found.... wiered

    It's not difficult...

    The card was listed as supported in DVB mode not analogue mode.
    To implement software encoding as per the link I sent, you need a MPEG-2 encoder.
    So if your card is now seen in MediaPortal as two cards 1x Digital & 1x Analogue then you need an appropriate software encoder installed.

    i have tried every single mpeg encoder (plus nonmpeg encoder). i have really no idea what i'm supposed to do anymore. i've spend so much time on this now - if i used that time for working i could afford a fully compatible card for MP with a SVHS in that works... (-; and besides, i'm willing to do that. i don't think i will get this oem_crap working with MP one day so i have to look for a cheap (external) device that does either thta, or DVB-S itself.

    Don't confuse 'encoders' with 'decoders'.

    Supported 'encoders' are from CyberLink & InterVideo (and possibly soon Mainconcept) which as per the news article on the home page has to come from a specific application.
    I recommend InterVideo WinDVR 3 as we can control the recording quality via config.

    If you post your log then we can find out whats wrong, if you don't then we won't.

    thx for keep helping me in the first place (-; - here we go:

    http://pastebin.com/659365

    this is my log for testing with the Digital card name. but i understand that this is not what i need since i attemp to use my svhs in. so here we go for the analogue part:

    i have both, cyberlink and intervideo, installed - btw: cyberlink was the only software delievered with my bundle, so i assume that must be working....

    anyway, the log if i choose the analouge card (wich graph could not be created):

    thx again for keep letting me bother you (-;
