SVN installing or not ?? / card defs changed (1 Viewer)

why is it that when i install an SVN build over the top of an existing SVN build... it says that it has installed properly, but then loading MP the splash screen still had the previous build number on it

example, i had build 11039 installed, i have just installed 11075, but the splash screen still says 11039.

has the SVN actually installed ? any other way of checking ?

also... it appears that the card defintion reference for Nebula DigiTV PCI BDA is not working any more. (no capture card detected)

it was working in build 10980, but now in 11039 and 11075 it isn't ! has anything been specifically changed in these builds ?

I have noticed exactly the same bug

Every svn after 10/10/2006 does not run the cmd window and finish the instal on a verison that has previous SVN instals .

Staring MP and the window is showing 10/10 as the version even though a newer build has installed.

I could find no way to repair this.

To work around and save your database and xml config data.

Rename the MP folder then uninstal MP.

Instal a-fresh MP .2 then the latest SVN .

Copy over all your XML files form the 'renamed' MP folder into the new MP instal .

Copy over your entire databse folder.

Copy over any important data from the THUMBS folder; like tv radio icons and PICTURES.

Now when you run MP all should be fine (well it was for my setup) and all your settings should be as you previously had.

As for the NEBULA problem this is an error in the XML file so you will need to use an older saved XML that worked .

At the moment, as a workaround, i'm installing the svn into an empty directory and copy the extracted files into the mediaportal directory (overwriting files that exist).
Might not be a clean soloution, but at least the flash screen shows the new version (giving me the feeling of being uptodate )))

seems to be a problem with the NSIS-installer, will have a look

EDIT: Problem found (overwrite failed on protected files), next builds should be fine. Thanks for the hint!

any idea why the carddefinitions.xml file has been changed so that cards that did work , now don't ?

build 10089 was fine for me (with nebula and hauppage cards) but builds after that seem to have defs that don't detect the cards.

Cut and paste error, possibly. just use your old file for now.
