Switch between two Servers for one Client?? (1 Viewer)

Is ist possible to switch between 2 Servers?

My Situation: At home i plan a singleseated server/client installation. On the other hand, i have an Asus notebook with build-in DVB-T tuner. There, i'll install singleseated too. If travelling, i may watch TV on the Notebook with the build-in tuner. At home i want to switch to the server from the PC.

Is this constellation possible?

I think the best way to do this would be to install the TVServer client and then just disable that plugin when you want to use the internal tuners.
It's not a perfect solution, but should be ok.

Can something be done using the Master/Slave configuration maybe? I'm just guessing - but make the Home PC the Master, and the Laptop the slave. If one isnt available, then im assuming it may be clever enough to know, and use the correct TVServer?

Hi,

The master/slave server was initially planned, but I am pretty sure it never worked properly and has been either put on hold or canned. Either way, I'm afraid that this is not a solution at the present time.

For The Record supports as many servers as you wish. You only need to make sure you configure it to use an admin account with network priviliges during setup. Then you can add a recorder/tuner for each of your TV server machines.
