[QUOTE="TechLife, post: 415028, member: 81810"] I apologize in advance if this is not the correct place to ask for help with my current issue. It does however seem to be a codec issue... I recently reformatted and reinstalled a fresh copy of Vista Home Premium. All updates have been applied (including SP1). The only codecs I have installed is FFDShow Tryouts Beta 6 (12/21/08). All of my media is ripped either movie only or tv show only from the original disc using AnyDVD and CloneCD. It should probably also be noted that I am using the Arcsoft TMT 2 for BluRay playback. The problem that I am having is intermittent tearing in the top 1/4 of the screen on all of my media except BD. I assume because that is using the TMT player and it's own set of codecs? Anything that I have tried thus far has not made a difference. I have been reading the forums and googling for the past couple weeks or more trying to find a solution. I have yet to find a solution or hardly any useful information at all regarding this issue. Most anything that I can find relates to VMR9 and that EVR should fix this...problem is I AM using EVR. On a previous installation, I used the DIVX pack with AC3 and had no issues. I read so many good things about FFDShow that I wanted to give it a try. I also like all the possibilities that it offers...and that it's open source. I am more than happy to provide ANY information that could assist anyone in helping me get to this bottom of this issue. I'm willing to try just about anything as a means of troubleshooting. I'd rather not screw with different codecs unless absolutely necessary as we all know that can be HTPC suicide. I really don't want to reformat again...I've spent a LOT of time setting everything up. Everything else is perfect but this tearing is driving me nuts!!
