Dear MP users,

I bought Technisat SS USB 2 HD with CI module a few days back, I tried tune channels over ProgDVB/DVBViewer and all run fine. But I cannot access tuner under Mediaportal TVServer. Select box of tuners is empty :-(

I am running on: Windows 7 Home x64, driver version 1.0.5.702 (downloaded from Technisat).

Any tips or tricks?

Thanks for your reply.

    Hello and welcome bafikk

Could you please post your TV Server logs so I can take a look?
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Click "open log directory" in the top left hand corner.
    3. Zip up the files that you find there.
    4. Attach the zip file to your post.

Also, can you tell me: do you know whether you installed the BDA driver or the WDM driver? You can check this by:
    1. Open control panel.
    2. Select "hardware and sound".
    3. Select "device manager".
    4. Find the tuner - it will be listed under "sound, video and game controllers" or "network adapters".
    5. Right click and select "properties".
    6. Go to the "driver" tab.
    7. Please tell me the names of the files listed for "driver files" (eg. SkyNET_AMD64.sys).

    Thank you,
    mm

    Hi mm,

    thank you for your answer!

Logs are under mp_logs.zip, device manager shows 2 devices for USB tuner - device_manager.png and drivers details are under drivers_details.png.

Thank you for your reply and have a nice day man.
    Lukas

    Hello again Lukas

The problem seems to be that MP is confused about which driver to use. In your system registry, a TechniSat B2C2 source filter (Sky2PCAVSrc.ax) has been registered, but this file cannot be found on your HDD. These registry keys are not needed and should be deleted to solve the problem. To do this:

    1. Open the start menu, type regedit and hit enter/return.
    2. Scroll up to the top in the left hand pane and select "computer".
    3. Click "edit" (in the menu), and select "find...".
    4. Enter "Sky2PCAVSrc.ax" and click "find next".
    5. Delete each COM class key which references this file. I have provided a screenshot as an example. When you find a reference like this in an "InprocServer32" folder you should delete the folder above it (ignore references that are not in an "InprocServer32" folder). In this example you would delete the circled folder starting "{AA105AE0-...". Press F3 to find the next reference. For me, there are a total of 6 references that I would delete.

Note: please be *very* careful! It is not usually a good idea to edit the registry unless you know what you are doing. Deleting the wrong entries could cause problems for your computer.

    Yes, I did.

Edit: I will try on another computer, maybe there is problem in my Windows installation.

If you do that, try not to use the Technisat installer. Direct the driver installer to look in the folder with the UD....sys file in it...
The other thing I thought of: try looking in the registry again and see if there are any references to "{E82536A0-94DA-11d2-A463-00A0C95D308D}". This is related to the SkyStar/CableStar/AirStar 2 driver.

    Hi mm,

sorry for my late answer! I tested on another PC now. I installed only drivers, restart PC, tried MP and DVB-S tuner is available. So, I think there is some problem with my second computer and Windows 7 + Skystar driver + Mediaportal.

I must lend CAM module and check some DVB-S channels, if it is work fully :)

    Thank you.

Edit: Info from registry, I did search in new computer for key and no results, but on first PC (Skystar not working) regedit found this key.

    Hello again bafikk

...but on first PC (Skystar not working) regedit found this key.
So if you delete that key I think it should fix the problem on the first PC. Note that the key could be registered more than once.
