I recently posted a msg relating to MP running problems with codecs and non-recordings and freezes. All of which has been sorted, except:

I seem to have traced some non-recordings to my Cinergy DVBT card. I have played with the card priorities and made Cinergy the lowest as it's the least reliable card. Every recording shows up with a 5.48kb file only!! The other two cards work perfectly. MP is happy with the card, autotunes it and Windows says there are no errors with the card. Currently using the latest 5.0.17.0 driver

The card appears to be on the supported list and is definately on the MCE2005 list. Has anyone out there had similar problems and have you managed to overcome this?????

MediaPortal log http://moviebuff03.pastebin.com/755346
Error log http://moviebuff03.pastebin.com/755349

You can see the manual recordings @ 12:50 approx, but I cannot see anything in the log to indiicate problems...Maybe it's only related to scheduled recordings?

I am aware of the issue at 04:00 when the WEBEPG downloads and then at 05:00 for the tvguide.xml import. Can this in anyway affect the TV cards operations by keep coming out of suspend mode?

So, has anyone got this card? Does it work correctly in MP?

I am still only getting 5.48KB recordings when using this card. It has been correctly recognised by MP and it autotunes in setup.

Any ideas people?

Hi, I have the same card and I could possibly check out how my card behaves w.r.t. your problem. My problem is that I can't get any channels set up at all. I use the TV Wizard, enter the "Edit properties of your TV card dialog and do a Scan". At some frequencies the signal quality jumps up to full and it says "Getting info" or something similar. One of the frequencies is where our channel 4 is so there's something real going on. But when the scan is finished it still says 0 (zero) for new TV channels and updated TV channels and the TV tuner application doesn't find any channels. My card works perfectly with the native Terratec TV application.

Any hints as to the proper procedure to set up the card? I've had issues earlier having done some experimenting with the BDA filters of the card in GraphEdit (it worked too). GraphEdit messed up the stations in the Terratec application but they came back after I restarted the computer.

Thanks!

Interesting to see your reply!

Out of curiosity, what driver are you using? I am running 5.0.17.0. I haven't tried the Terratec app as I just loaded the drivers straight into Windows Device Manager!

Unfortunately due to my committments surrounding the World Cup, it will be a while for me to fiddle with MP. I intend to take each of the three cards out and load one at a time, just to double check the tuning and running are ok.

Do you use more than one card? If so are you tuning each card on setup or tuning one and then copying across the channels to the other cards via MP Setup>Teleivsion>Channels? Also if this is the case, how have you set priorities for each card?

You are right about the 0 as the channel number. That is incorrect and won't be a tuned channel as I have experienced that in the past. Funny though, it was never CH4 that I had the problem with, but E4, Sky Three and UKTV History (I'm suspicious that they are on the same MUX).

Post a msg if you discover anything and I will do the same.
Good Luck!

Hi, and thanks for your answer!

>>I'm running the same drivers. Interestingly enough they are labelled "beta" on the Terratec site.

Do you use more than one card? If so are you tuning each card on setup or tuning one and then copying across the channels to the other cards via MP Setup>Teleivsion>Channels? Also if this is the case, how have you set priorities for each card?

>>I only have this one card. I suspect there is some sort of caching going on somewhere that gets messed up when you access the same card / same filters from several applications.

The reason why I started to experiment with MediaPortal was that I hoped it would be configurable so that I could e.g. have chosen my own renderer. I don't seem to be able to do that which means that my interest in MP is declining very fast :) I guess I will end up coding the TV app myself too...
