Hi all.

I am looking for a new TV-Tuner card that have:

1. Hardware encoding
2. Good Video-IN (For cable TV box)
3. DVB-T

I have found these two cards.

Terratec Cinergy 1400 DVB-T = http://tven.terratec.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=232

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1300 = http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/products/data_hvr1300.html

The Hauppauge card is about 50% more expensive in Denmark. Seems they have the same hardware chip.

Anyone have any experience with these two cards?

The Hauppauge card is a combo card (analog + dbv) but when that is said I am not very impressed with the picture quality (not to mention the many many software bugs the software for the PVR150 / PVR500 have had), if you need a DVB go for the Terratec card ... it's cheap and you don't need a very expensive card with MPEG-2 encoder to record DVB since it's already "encoded".

Cinergy 1400 DVB T

I have two Cinergy DVB 1400 T tv cards running MCE 2005 and i have had nothing but problems with them.

I seriously wish i hadnt bought them.

The support on the terratec site is poor to say the least and they havent responded to an email request for support either.

Just look at the FAQs for this particular card and it will show you!

Buy something else my friend....

on this matter can anyone help me with running these two cards in one PC?

i keep getting messages saying the signal is lost when trying to record one channel and watch another, the recorded file is reported as unsupported (although i can watch the chanel and se e the programme whilst recording and when the system restarts from hibernation i have no signal either...

Check this posting that I've made in the past few days. It might be something that needs consideration if buying a Cinergy 1400, as certain products can affect other cards' tuning frequencies...

Now that I have identified the problem, I reckon there can be a workaround, but nonetheless it's a pain when things don't work in harmony. That said, when it works without the Nova-T (DVBT) it works perfectly.

Good luck!
