I wasn't sure where to post this, so here goes...

I have a bit of a problem with the "My" terminology, as in "My Music", "My TV", "My Pictures", etc.

The problem is, I know it's mine, it's on my computer, and it's my TV too, so why the possessive there? Why not just "Music", "TV", "Pictures" and so on?

I understand this is an MCE/XP legacy, but does it have a point really?

My vote is, since we're on MediaPortalLand and not on an MS "think" tank, let's abolish the "My" from everything! I call it MediaPortal RC3.my_free.

This has already been addressed in the past and for those who are anal about not having "My", there were instructions on how to remove it. (Search for it, I'm sure it's still around)

Shouldn't we be focussing on getting a rock solid piece of software rather then fluff like the word "My" on the various options?

For those that want to get rid of the "My" prefix you can simply add the following line to the 'general' section of mediaportal.xml:

    Code:
        <entry name="myprefix">no</entry>
