    How is the new TvEngine v3 going to support remote controlls (IR)?

    Setup;
    1. You have one backend server where the TV-tuners are
    2. You have two or more frontends connected to the background server and these frontends are where you watch TV.

    Question;
    You would like to have one remote towards each front end (ie the IR port on the front end). Today the remote is towards the tv tuner. How is the setup going to work when using several front ends?

    Since the remote communicates with the front end I wouldn't imagine this would be a problem at all. You will just need a remote for each front end.

    so basically what you are saying is that I would need;
    * a IR receiver (hardware) on each front end
    * software like WinLIRC on each fron end

    and it would work.

    Case 1: Network Setup
    Server:
    - Network Interface
    - TV Cards
    - MediaPortal TV-Server

    Client(s)
    - Network Interface
    - i.e. Microsoft MCE remote + receiver
    - MediaPortal client

    Case 2: Single Seat
    HTPC:
    - TV Cards
    - i.e. Microsoft MCE remote + receiver
    - MediaPortal TV-Server
    - MediaPortal client
