Touch

I recently got back into the HTPC scene and got myself a Zalman HD160XT case also (Black, but I wish I had bought the silver instead).

I just want to heat up this discussion about HTPC touchscreen again, in hope that someone will develop a touch-friendly skin for MP.

Hi,
as you can see in my specs I am running a similar configuration for a long time now except for the fact that I have an external touchscreen connected in clone mode. Beamer is running at 1280x720. I am using B2 as a skin and this works fairly well.
I second the fact there is a need for a dedicated touchscreen skin. But so far there was unfortunately little interest in making one from skin designers.
In case of questions about my config let me know.
cheers
cheffe

Hi!

I'm using a Amisos/Dign/Originae X15e V2 with 3 build-in case-fans.
The touchscreen is working with up to 1024x768. I'm using the NVidia controlcenter with a key-kombination to switch between VGA and DVI output. So I can switch between TV and Touchscreen. Clone or Dual-View is not working well. May be I'm too stupid or whatever... because movies wont displayed - just black player-window
The case itself is beautiful, the fans are powered by the fancontrol of my bequiet powersupply and nearly inaudible at normal temperatures. I love the mounting of the hdd with a fan below. The only negative thing: in the rear left side is no way to get the hot air out of the case. I'm using a passiv cooled Geforce 6600. Now I'm thinking of replacing the 6600 with HD 2600XT with a coolingsolution like the one from GeCube.

regards

Fritz

@ cheffe97

I know about the primary and secondary screen. That doesnt solve the problem in my "case". I think its the software I'm using to watch DVD's. (Powercinema 5)

Hi,

i'm also using the Zalman HD160XT, a full HD Monitor as first display.
Until there is no MediaPortal solution for the secondary display,
I'm using iTunes for Music and Radio on the Touch Screen, Mediaportal for
TV, DVD etc. on the first Scrren.
With the new Zini-Software even the Stand-by Mode is O.K. - once.
After the first standby the system will not go in standby any more...
(but even if zini is disabled...)

I replaced the 3 80mm zalman-fans with noctua-fans and removed the 92mm fan,
Harddisk is ~45°, CPU and MB ~40 ...
Now there is the noise from the bequiet PS ;)

Does anyone know of a way to use the remote control to switch MP from one display to another? That would temporarily solve the problem with 2 monitors.

No, I haven't found a way to do switch monitors with a remote. In the next week or so, I will try this combination:

1. Use Ultramon
2. Use this add on for Ultramon that will switch the 2 displays using the mouse wheel
