802.11n -> 200 Mbit/s up to 540 Mbit/s (brutto)


The brutto rate is also the reason, why 802.11b won't work for video streaming. Netto you might get 3 - 5 Mbit/s. With 802.11g 20 Mbit/s (very good conditions). Typical TV stream 4 MBit/s, can raise up to 9 and 25 for HDTV. So it wont fit into the WLAN-wire. ;)


Wired speed stagnant? I know time where 10 MBit was great (and I am not tooooo old ;)). We are now at 1 GBit at home. Increase x100! :)
