timeshift improvements (1 Viewer)

We have been using different kinds of approach to the timeshift functionality.

1. Record from the past in timeshift! Today there is no way, as I understand, to record from the timeshift buffer. This is possible in the DVD/HD-player on the market. So a convinient way of doing this would be nice to have. I am probably not the first person who forgot to to start the the recording in time.

2. Why not keep the timeshift buffer for later sessions. If you leave the program or just switch timeshift off, it should be handy to just start where we left the timeshift buffer. I haven't seen this in any TV-software so far. Technically it shouldn't be a big problem, everything is already in the files and it is a question to position MP-TV using the files on disk.

1. When timeshifting you have to record the current show and - voilà - the recording starts where the show has begun (in case it is in the buffer).

1. Record from the past in timeshift

AFAIK this only worked in MyTV, not TVE3.

Example if you were watching live TV and you suddenly decided you wanted to record that program, you could (only if timeshift enabled of course), if you had changed channels then the previous buffered item would be deleted, and the recording would only record from the start point of the channel change.

Ok...so when I hit ' i' on my MCE remote and than choose record and than record the current playing show, it does not work?
That should also record the show from the beginning when in timeshift mode, don't you agree?

If you have been on that show since it started with timeshift on then yes it would be buffered and able to save that to a recording.
