Hello

i just set up my new HTPC and now I am looking for the perfect software.

Can anyone recommend me if i should use TV server or the build in solution. I have analog cable TV but DVB-T is also available but right now i am not using it since only few channels are provided.
My TV card ist HVR_1100.

I have checked the comparison list and i dont understand what Timeshiftbuffer is added to a "Record now" recording means.

I would like to be able to watch tv pause and continue later (should be "normal" timeshift as mentioned in the list)
Further i would like to start recording programmed and manual and start watching later (being able to skip the ads)

Is this possible with both solutions??

thanks

Hi schnaydar. MediaPortal (single seat) will install both the Tv server and Tv client on your PC. It should work with your HVR_1100. You can schedule a recording and watch it later or while it's recording. The timeshiftbuffer allows you to play from the beginning, pause, or continue later. MP also comes with a plugin that can skip the ads for you.
