But seriously.... Who pauses something for that long? I would say half an hour would be fine. maximum one hour. If I knew that i was not coming back for several hours, I would instead record what I dont want to miss.

don't say that, if I'm watching Tv and go to sport, I just press pause, switch off Tv and after 3 or 4 hours I just press play again^^ It is more comfortable for me
Another example: You have a timeshift buffer for lets say one hour, you press pause to make your self some food, suddenly you get an call from your girlfriend and you're talking for over a hour...

Fact is there is many other examples for doing so and mylle, the question is not why would someone do that but rather what is the right (or expected) thing to do if it happens. All I'm saying, if it's handled correctly in original implementation, it should be handled in this one too.

Personally, I don't see myself pausing the timeshift any longer than the time it takes to make a sandwitch But the various use-cases need to be handled correctly.

hey guys i've modified the tvserver so that you can even set the .ts file size to 60GB if you need that - do it - just works with NTFS for sure.

Will post patches in the next 30 min.

and what happens after the 60GB if live tv is *paused*? That was the original question, not what the max file size is =)

it overwrites from pos. 0 again. It is like you reach max files limit in the actual version.

Sadly i cannot post my patches on 1st page. You already discussed too much.

So here are patches for everything also for the stuff from dvdfreak.

All patches apply ONLY to actual SVN AND you have to apply miroslavs patch FIRST.

sorry but what does that mean? I think i still don't get it. It discards live data? Then i have the last 60 minutes and note more? So it just stops "timeshifting"?
