Is it possible that we can see trailer support in a near future?
It would be really nice if you could watch online trailers of the movies that you have in the database.

For example apple.com is hosting most trailers in good quality.

Are there any technical reason why we not could see this?

I think this would be a great feature. In fact i started doing this manually within ant. In the URL field I would first put the file location of a trailer that I downloaded via Stage6 (R.I.P) then i would do the ";" and the file location of the actual movie. Then when you launch the movie in MP it would play the trailer before the movie. It was pretty cool but a lot of work and now that Stage 6 is gone theres really no other site as good for downloading HD trailers.

I do think it would be sweet though if it could be setup where when you launch a movie in myfilms it would stream a random trailer from apple.

Yep,

Most movietrailers are available from apple in quicktime format. And quicktime trailers are possible to view via mplayer. Apple trailers are working good in onlinevideos plug-in. So it should really be possible.

true but what we want is to say, click on "Die Hard" and have it play a trailer immediately before launching the movie.

Well.. The movie does not need to start imediately after the trailer. But I want to easily click on a movie title to play the trailer. It could be cool if you have some ppl over for a movie night and wants to check which movie you want to see. Since maybe not everyone knows all titles.

Hi Zebons,

I would like to bring this up again - together with a suggestion for "easy" implementation of trailer support for MyFilms:
Would it be possible to do it the same way as with fanart support - so that MyFilms would check if there is a trailer available e.g. in a Trailer Directory (comparing filename like fanart does) plus adding another button in the detailspage of the skin to start trailers if they are available?

Of course it would be a very nice feature to be able to have a sort option for movies with trailers - but this might be a bit more difficult (because ant DB doesn't know anything about the trailers)?
I would very much appreciate that
