HI any one tried linking 2 HTPC together so that it serves like a media video exchanger so (A) PC can view video and (B) PC can extract video from (A) and view at the same time vice versa? All these by a ethernet LAN??

That should not be a problem. Just map a network drive on HTPC A to B and vice versa and you should be set

After Mapping these functions, I will be able to pic and choose movies or songs from different PCs using Media Portal platform?

Absolutely! Network drives behave like regular drives / folders so you shouldn't have any problems seamlessly integrating your media on other PCs, with MediaPortal. You can even set MP to access an FTP server in case your media is on a website or on a personal FTP server at another location.

Hope this helps :)
