Hi,

I have been running MP for a few months now, everything ok.

Today I wanted to start TV on my client as nearly every day; I did not get any TV picture ("failed to start video/audio"). I did not install anything since yesterday: yesterday everything was ok, today it does not start.

I see that the client started timeshifting on the server, and I see the stream on the client.

Error in the logs: TSReaderPlayer:GetInterfaces() failed. Any ideas what this error means? Any solutions?

On the server (single seat) everything is ok; if I start Mediaportal on the server, everything works like normal.

A search in the forum did not help; most of the same issues are old, and the only new one did not get an answer until now.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Alfred

P.S.: Uninstall, clearing all folders and a complete reinstall fo RC4 did not help.
Overwriting with a backup also did not help.

If its multiseat only then I would suspect some network error. TsReader is not able to get stream and doesnt know what it should provide with it's output pins -> hence the error. Just a guess.

    Hi,

thanks for the answer - I do not really know but I guess its not a network error, because:
    • no error about the network in logs
    • I can ping in both directions
    • the client is able to start timeshifting on the server
    • the client is able to switch channels on the server
    • the client is updating EPG from the server
    • I even can see the stream which was initiated by the client
Nevertheless, I tried with firewalls disabled; no difference. So, I think everything with network should be ok; for me it just looks like the client cannot read the stream for any reason - and I do not know at all for which reason.

    Hi all,

no new ideas? I tried everything in the meanwhile - backups, complete reinstallation - , no success.

The only thing I did not is a reinstallation of the operating system.

    Thanks.

    Cause: AVM Fritz VPN "Fernzugang"

    Hi all,

I found the cause of the a.m. problem: After trying a lot of things, I found that I had reactivated the AVM Fritz VPN-Software, called "AVM FRITZ!Fernzugang" on the client.

Obviously this does interrupt the TV-Communication.

I tried to find out the cause, but I did not find any reason; the only thing I see is that the software does install another driver (AVM VPN driver) in the network configuration. It must do more, but I do not see what.

Maybe this information is helpful to others. It did cost me a lot of time to find it out.
