Since I can't get standy to work right (and turn back on) the next best thing I can think of is to just turn off the video output. This happens automatically when media portal becomes "idle", I'm not sure how long that is.

It would be nice if I could press a button on my remote to have that happen immediately, and come back when I press it again.

I looked at the remote mappings but I can't seem to find an option for it.

So your running admin account, can you add a scheduled task to windows, which will wake up pc, complete task and go back to sleep, if your setup will not do this, then check for BIOS upgrade, here's a guide to try this How To Schedule Tasks in Windows XP

I don't want to schedule standby.
I want to be able to press a button on my remote and have it instantly standby and then press the button again and have it wake up.
I can't get my USB receiver to stay on eventhough I set it up to.

So since I can't get that to work, I'd like to be able to set my remote to turn off the display instantly. Thats happens automatically now, but I want the option to do it instantly. Is there a way to do this? Even if standby worked, I think I'd still like to be able to do this.
