Turn off the monitor with the remote control (1 Viewer)

When listening to mp3 music, visualization are very nice to watch. But somtimes I would prefer to simply switch off the monitor with the remote control (and to stop visualizations so as to save cpu power) and to enable it later.
Is there a chance to access this power saving function (switching off the monitor while listening to the music) in MP ?

"enable screen saver in fullscreen mode" has no effect - I've tried it long ago, of course. Have you any next idea?

You can "teach" your MCE Remote Control how to turn of the Tv...

I use universal remote control via Girder, which sends internal WXP function "turn off the monitor"......but the problem described up pesrsists
