Hi

Is Hauppauge WinTV-PVR150MCE tv the best card to buy?
if I want Analog TV chanals and a composite/s-video input
to my satellite receiver, I want to see sat tv in MediaPortal.
I now have a pinnacle 310i TNT DVB-T card with analog tv tuner but
this will not work with MediaPortal on Analog tv DVB-T is ok
I find the software very good, good work guys

I am having the PVR150 (without MCE) and I am very happy with the result (D-Box in germany). Go for the S-Video it is much better for the picture quality. I am using the remote blaster plugin to switch channels an the box (hopefully that works as good for MS Remote as for the Hauppauge Remote).

The only disadvantage is the delay of 3 seconds between the original signal and MP's output to the TV. When I for some reason do s.th. directly on the box (for example increasing volume) I have to wait 3 seconds for the result ...

(Changin channels anyways is rather slow in MP ... so the there's not much difference)

thanks+regards

Hi.

Since you and I live in Denmark, and I use Hauppauge 1300 hybrid card, I'd recommend that for you. I use s-video in as you plan to do...Wrks fine with danish dvb-t (but no subtitles for tv2)

Regards, Per.

Hi,

As you, I'm using a PVR 150 as an acquisition card for my cable box. Pictures Quality is pretty good but I have some issues with audio inputs. The sound is completly saturated. I tried several old drivers wich solve my problems but with those i had blury pictures. So, I came back to the most recent official drivers.

Do you have the same kind of problem ?

I'm just finishing setting up my HTPC & have the s-video from my sat box running to my150MCE, but when I go to My TV, it says no signal.
Where is the setting for Media Portal to use the s-video in? I didn't see anything when I was setting it up.
I also didn't see where you enter in the model sat box (or cable box) you have so Media Portal will change channels.

Thanks.

thank for for your tip. I found yesterday (very late on the nite...) an interesting topic in this forum... I merged different so now I'am able to tune audio input level and I fixed all video problems.

But I suppose it's easier to use unoffical drivers. I'll try in a near future

Does it work with Hauppauge s/w ?

You have to create an new #CBS channler in the channel manager (I don't remember exactly the name of this channel...)

To drive your cable box you have to use Hauppauge IRBlaster s/w
You enter all parameters needed and after you switch on IRBlaster plug in in MP. It'll work very fine after that :)
