Hey all, I just downloaded MediaPortal in hopes of getting a better TV viewing and recording program than the one packaged with my TV card.

For some reason, it doesn't appear to be working with my card, but it is rather generic. I did, however, mainly buy it for video capture purposes, so I went cheap, and got this card,
it came from that seller, as well.

MediaPortal TV doesn't seem to even recognize it when I open that section of the software. I do know that the card does work, though.

Here's a screencap of my configuration screen:

Also, on a much less related note, it came with a remote, and I'd like to know how to configure that as well, if you'd be so helpful! :)

Thanks for the help, I've used many open source applications before, but I must say this one ranks up as one of the most polished apps I've seen out there. :D

    Hi

I'll try and give as much information as I can, this is a philips chipset analogue tuner that uses whats known as software encoding, the incoming signal needs to be encoded to mpeg2 format for playback, this is extremely cpu intensive, so MP recommends at least a 2.8ghz pentuim 4 to do this (not celeron) most dual cores will work also.

Now you would then need the encoders, for this you need to see here UserGuides/SW-Cards_setup - MediaPortal Manual Documentation

After that, I'm afraid I'm lost as completely digital, hopefully someone will step in and give further help :)

    Welcome to MP

I do have the InterVideo encoders, and went ahead and switched to that and configured everything, but the TV still isn't showing. As for processing power, I'm not all to concerned, as I'm running an Intel Q6600 Quad Core @ 2.40GHz.

    Two things:
    1. When I click "Edit" to view my capture card, I am getting the "No Graph" error.

    2. I haven't scanned for channels yet, and I don't know how to.

Could those be a part of the problem?

    Thanks again.
