Two little things have confused me since setting up MP to play TV through.

First off is that I can change channel using the MCE remote by number of I can only chose 1-9. Can I change something so I can go to say 80 ?

Also the other is channels which are off air seem to be screwing up browsing. If I scroll through the channels and come across BBC3 when it is not up I get error messages and it seems to generally take about 5 mins to get back to watching a normal channel. Anything I can do about this?

If i hit 23 it tunes to my channel no. 23 the hits!, so should work for you.

Yep, off air channels a real pain, it does depend on how good the signal to the off air channel is (dopey i know) how quickly it recovers and says revert to previous channel in popup dialogue, confirm yes\no, if you ever make the wrong choice, you can seem to be there forever and control alt delete, spring to mind.

A tricky combination on an MCE Remote

It would be nice in a future release to be able to flag channels such as BBC3/CBBC and BBC4/Cbeebies as to their availablity rather than waiting for TV Server to time out.

hehe, forget not everyones got a mce keyboard handy

Deleted most of the other channels i do not use, even the likes of sentanta are not flagged as pay\scrambled, but if you accidently scroll to them causes system to hang, so its easier just to get rid.

As the number of shared frequencies may actually rise in the future, definately need some easy way of voiding these non-active channels.

After further investigation it looks like it works up to about 60. 70+ and it goes straight to BBC3 or BBC4 which then hits the other annoyance...

Anyone else have the same problem? (I just checked and Sky Sports News is defined as 83 in the TV setup correctly so I am guessing it is the way the input is being handled?)

Here it looks like LCN isn't being used and possition in EPG is ie 40 gives Sky Sports News , 34 gives CBBC.The LCN's don't have an equivalent channel in the EPG so nothing happens.

I'll check my config to see if I have it wrong, I don't often use this feature .

Can confirm this is happening, its using channel position in TVServer, so for me hitting 33 brings up cbbc.

As i always use the epg for channel changes, never noticed not using lcn, wonder if using the MPconfig\television index option (untick) makes a difference, cannot access MP to try atm.

Correct, if you untick this option then LCN is reflected correctly in the EPG for channel selection, just tested.

So the default value 'ticked' gives wrong effect as this gives EPG possition whereas 'unticked' gives LCN.

Needed me to rescan the channels for some reason ?? Was thinking CBBC was 80 even though it was showing correct channel# in EPG and in TV server?
