G'day

I'm just curious how can one edit/view information of the tv guide database? Say if I wanted to delete some EPG or edit the EPG data information that is imported to the TV Guide database, what would I need to use (a database manager?) in order to do this?

I know it sounds like a stupid question but it's one that I've been trying to solve for past few months without asking for help until now.

Hey, did you work this out? I would like to do the same. I found a TVDatabaseV21.db3 in the \ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database folder, and downloaded a db viewer, but this file is empty. It must be stored somewhere else which I cannot find.

No I didn't work it out either, but I've been trying to work out where the information is stored. I saw that too but I haven't used a Database Viewer - what one did you use to view that particular file?

The EPG data is in the MySQL/MSSQL database in table "program". However changing data in this table is an easy way to mess up your TVServer unless you know very well what you are doing.

Needless to say that you should not report any bugs when using a database you have edited manually.

For MSSQL Express you can use SQL Server Management Studio Express. For MySQL you can use MySQL Browser. The database is MpTvDB.

Yes, thanks for that. I managed to establish what the xmltv plugin is reading from the xml file for the Classification field. It doesn't look correct to me with <value>PGR</value>. It seems no MP developers are reading the xmltv forum as I've not got any responses from my message there.
