RESTORED switching video to other display! I just upgraded my video card to an NVidia N9500GT and thought to use the latest driver 185.50 I had been using nView Profiles and HOTKEYS to switch my single desktop between my HDMI (1280x720) projector and my analog (1440x900) 19" monitor. I had issue getting this nView to work... I uninstalled 185.50 and reinstalled 182.20 without any improvement. Last night I went back farther to a 169.xx version I had on my system and still got nowhere... Fooling around with the system tray I saw NVidia's icon and see a Show nView Toolbar selection. I tried the nView's Toolbar Switch to Next Display Device and voila -- the display switches over to my other display! I assigned this function to a HOTKEY (in my case: <Ctrl><Alt><n>) and now I can (once again) toggle my desktop between video heads effortlessly! This 'feature' may reside in later versions of the NVidia display drivers, but as of last night I'm back working on 169.xx..... not sure whether I should fool with something that is working! Hope this helps those of you trying to toggle between monitors -- especially finicky HDMI ones :-) I don't know why nView no longer uses the Profiles correctly, but this 'new' way of controlling my NVidia display driver works just fine... whenever I press the HOTKEY the display just flips over to the other and I'm set!
