TV issue with HVR-950q (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I recently decided to try out MP. I am trying to get TV to work with HVR-950q. It looks like i need an encoder.

I have installed latest Mainconcept encoder (v1.5). I was not able to see it in Mediaportal config or TV config. I have uninstalled everything. I am reinstalling my Mediaportal.

Do i have to follow any particular pointers to get TV working?

PS: I have a 64bit Win7. would love to replace WMC. But looks like WMC is a worthwhile competitor. Everything works for me except for the dam remote with IR Blaster( for WMC). I was hoping MP could do it right.

I had problems at first too. My problem (I think) was related to incorrect or badly-installed drivers. If you go to Hauppauge's website you can get the most up to date drivers, also there is a Hauppauge MCE encoder that you might have to install to get it working with MP.

I had tried so many different things (different drivers, different codecs ,etc) that at the end I just wiped the computer and reinstalled a clean os with nothing but the latest Hauppauge drivers and Mediaportal, then everything worked fine.
