TV - Keep timeshift... (1 Viewer)

I have live an drecoded TV working, using RC4.

When I stop live TV either by pressing the 'stop' button on the remote or using the menu item MP advises that Timeshift buffer will be lost. Is there a way I can stop (seeing and hearing) TV while keeping the timeshift buffer operating?

I have 6 TV Tuners... when I change channel I would like the new channel to be seen on a new tuner, or to be able to pick a 'stream' for the new channel. Can this be done?

So it would be good to be able to see/have multipul timeshift buffers (one per tuner) and be able to access these using the 'Stream' menu item.

The 6 tuners all have all channels allocated - they are all digital tuners and can access the same channels. But I did not to scans for channels on each tuner.

So have I just missed a simple setting?

At the moment there is no way to record the timeshift, I belive this was possible in the old TVE2, but was dropped with the move to TVE3.

I also don't think there is a way to have the streams run constantly on all channels, it sounds like a good idea, though I'm guessing one could end up needing alot of harddrive space. One idea that comes to my mind is to start a manual recrording of all channels, but once again it would take up alot of harddrive space.

When it comes to your multi-tuner setup, how many transponders are you recieving your TV across? One idea might be to allocate the channels for each transponder to one tuner, that is if you have no more then 6 transponders.

I am not to concerned on the level of disk space for timeshift, this can be controlled by duration and will clear itself. I also have very large disks

The challenge of using tuners per transponders still is having more than one TV 'started'. When starting a new stream (not recorded) then the previous stream is stopped. This can be done via the config. So only one stream can be active for 'Play' many can be active for recording.

The challenage of manual recording on streams definatly is the clean-up of the recoded files.

This just seems an limitation that really could be resolved quite easily, as documented in one of my other posts.

For me I am back to an old version of Meedio, as it does what I neeed - just won't work on Windows 7...
