Not sure exactly what you mean by updating MP Database, But the recordings that are moved, no longer appear on the TV server which MediaPortal is by default set to record to. This also works for other files not just recordings.

Full path to each recording is stored in MediaPortal's MSSQL/MYSQL database so if you change this path after moving file it could be still available in TV plugin.

It sounds like your describing something to the effect like leaving a carbon copy path address so that it could be accessed still within the MP TV plugin, but the actual file or recording will be physically located on a NAS. And you also have a way to set a scheduler to automatically accomplish this. TV Management won't do this currently, but normally what I do is just set the Videos plugin to access my NAS drive where I keep all recordings that I've moved, and then access those from there. I haven't dealt to much with the SQL database, but I'll take a look at this, and see if this can be included in a future upgrade. The link shows something of a batch file that runs to accomplish this with certain admin rights, which could be a potential problem for MP users on a large scale, another problem would be if the SQL server is not by default installed on the "C" Drive; Maybe something of an advanced settings option, but I'll look into it. Thank you!

You dont need to deal with admins rights with SQL and drive letter since mp has internal method to combine path using current mp installation drive and working with its own database. I'll try to find it for you if I can.
