TV Problems (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I just finished installing tvserver and MP and pretty much followed the videos.

The problem I am having is that I cannot view TV inside media portal. I can preview the channel from tvserver and then I go to media portal and get nothing.....

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sorry, Im a bit new to media portal
I tried it once before they had the EPG plugins and I couldnt get the guide working so I gave up on MP back then.
Now I have the EPG working and no TV!

Hi NRK,

Here are a couple of steps that may help you debug this:

- To test that streaming works you can follow the steps here http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/TV-Engine_0.3/ in chapter 6D.

- If streaming works well with VLC then you should turn to MP itself. I assume you have installed the MP TV-client. You can check what codecs you have installed and in use. Many prefer ffdshow for video, I use PowerDVD's. You can play around a little with the different codecs you may have on your system to see if it makes any difference.

- The log files of interest should be mediaportal.log in MediaPortal/log. If you still have issues with MP I suggest you zip/rar the entire log-directory and upload here.

I installed everything that was in the videos....

I just reinstalled everything (minus SQL) and its the same thing.

if you are using latest svn from MediaPortal, then you need to install .net framework 3 too.

because the new EVR support requires 2 dll's which come with .net3

currently the developers are trying to remove this dependancies because EVR is only available in Windows Vista.

In the meantime you have to install .net framework 3, or stick with an older svn.

ahhh! thats why I got so many problems too! After upgrading to the latest svn, TV did not work in my client either!

Im installing now, so ill let you know how it goes. I dont have to reinstall anything do I?

directshow helper is part of MP. and this is the place where the EVR fetaure has been added.

and because of the dependancies to 2 dll's from .net3, dshowhelper was moaning
