In previous versions of Media Portal I enabled the quality setting on my PVR-350 and set it to medium or low. That worked fine. Now if I enable this setting on MP 0.2.2.0, TV frame-rate is worse than 1 fps when time-shift is enabled. If I uncheck this setting, everything works as expected, including time-shift.

    Hi,

quality settings for PVR 350 is unfortunately broken since quite some time. I reported it already, but there was no reaction, yet.

Not that much time as with MediaPortal 0.2.1.0 this was working. I didn't try SVN releases, though.

The issue you describe seems different. I haven't looked at the resulting file sizes to confirm wether the correct bitrate has been used or not. The problem is that TV playback doesn't work properly, I get really bad stutter with this setting enabled. I've double checked with a clean install of MP 0.2.2.0.

On Media Portal 0.2.1.0 I had quality enabled and selected 'low' which was enough for analog TV; and I'm almost sure that with MP 0.2.0.0 I had the same setting. But as I said, I never looked exactly the resulting bitrate, as long as 1 h recording took less than 2 GB, that was enough for me.

    Hi,

with "low" a one hour recording would have been lower than 1 GB. It should have been around 700 MB. And "low" does look ugly (imho ;) ).

I will check with 0.2.2.0 as soon as I can, if I also get stutter.

Then it wasn't doing it's thing because my recordings have always been in the ballpark of 2 GB/h.

But now it's completely broken here. It's unwatchable TV with the quality setting enabled, regardless of the quality chosen: low, medium or high.
