TV-Server as a Multicast Server (1 Viewer)

I am looking for a way to multicast (destination addresses 224.x.x.x - 239.x.x.x) live tv to multiple client PCs in an office. I was looking at VLC for the server, but it has issues with my PVR-150 capture card.

The channel selection needs to be controlled on the server side, with the clients having no control.

Is TV-Server capable of this? How would you setup the multicast address?

I was planning on using VLC as the client, unless anyone has a better suggestion.

Only 1 channel will be used (actually S-Video into the capture card). I have no need for the guide or the ability to record. Do I still need to install SQL server?

If TV-Server wont do it, any other Windows-based suggestions would be appreciated. My knowledge of Linux is close to zero.

Thanks

I want to multicast the server as well so this is useful for me. However I also need to know if it can cast the whole multiplexer (mux) or just one channel? I saw this feature in one of the 2006 feature requests but I can't find anything else on it since. Do you know if it has been implemented yet?

Nope, not as far as I'm aware.
Timeshifting has to be supported. Can't support multiple clients timeshifting with a multicast stream.

Thank you. I understand and can imagen that might be a problem. Maybe it would be an option to disable the timeshifting option by choice wen somebody wants to use multicast. And switch timeshifting on and use unicast.

if VLC can receive RTSP stream (from TV Server) and act as a server for that stream - then it can be possible AIUI.
All this is applied to conditions from 1st post - no channel switching, one channel (e.g. SVideo input) is constantly timeshifting.

I read about the VLC server behind MP to stream to a multicast network in the posts above and i'm going to test that option. I was just wondering if MP could stream to multicast in the latest version wich it can't as I understand. I would like it more without VLC (or anything else) behind it. Then I need a less powerful system, less complicated, less energy and so on.

Ik wil check that out. Thank you!
