Hi, as the forum heading says, I'm a newcomer. I am new, to MediaPortal at least, having used XBMC for over a decade, but think initially I prefer it. It seems to have a slicker interface, designed for HDTV's and just has a more modern overall feel to it.

However I have a problem with the TV server in that I have two USB DVB-T2 tuners and that in both cases the TV server can only find 4 out of an available 14 HD Channels in my area. I checked my area/post code and it says that the signal in my area is good and that these channels should be available. I have good (excellent) signal bars on the TV server when scanning, so I can't work out why these channels are missing?

I then stumbled on this Amazon review of my TV card here:

Signal strength and sensitivity are far superior to any other DVB-T USB devices I've bought (and I've bought quite a few).

I was initially frustrated that it would not find the HD channels (DVB-T2 signal) but, after many searches on the Internet discovered this device needs more than the default time of MediaPortal TV Server to locate the HD signal. Setting the TV Server to wait 3 seconds while searching for channels cured the issue. In my opinion this is a significantly better device than the August DVB-T or DVB-T2 devices. it works reliably and without overheating that, on other brands, caused the signal strength to drop sufficient to render reception impossible.

One of my cards is the same brand as this guy (although both cards are equally affected). The problem is I can't see anywhere in the TV server configuration to add this delay? Is there anything else I can try too?

    Hello and welcome! :)

The problem is I can't see anywhere in the TV server configuration to add this delay?
It is here in TV Server configuration, general section, scan tab:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...n/TV-Server_Configuration/06_General#Scan_Tab

    The tune timeout setting.
Make sure you restart the TV service (see the manual control section of TV Server configuration) after changing that setting.

For the record, can you tell me what brand/model of tuner you have?

    Regards,
    mm

So to be clear you would set the 'Tune' option to 3 seconds to do what that guy in the Amazon review did? It was already set at 2. Do I need to change anything else?
