TV Server setup please help (1 Viewer)

Hi My TV card for some reason is not being seen by media portal. How do i direct the TV Server to the tv card.
I went into the media portal configuration and under TV Settings i changed the host name to the location of the TV Card. When i open Media portal and open my tv it just displays the location with the option to change settings or type in hostname or ip address. After a few minutes it displays the following error.

Some ports seem to be blocked
31456 tcp remote control
554 rtsp streaming
1433 tcp ms sql server
1434 udp ms sql server

how on earth do i unblock these ports

go to your modems home page in your internet browser and then add a virtual server. my address is http://192.168.1.254

Huh? I get the same error.. Are there any decent instructions on how to set up the TV Server portion?

I ended up doing the tv-server part separately first and it is going through the process of grabbing the channels now.. I am then going to run the setup again and install Media Portal itself as I am putting it on my HTPC.. so far so good
