Hi,
I am totally new to Mediaportal but I am very interested to see if I can use this instead of my Dreambox Sat receiver.
I am especially interested in the seperation of the TV-Server and Portal client so that I can connect aditional clients.
This will also make sure that the client only have to think about one thing and that is showing a good picture on the screen.
For the server I would like to:
- install 4* DVB-S2 tuners in the server.
- record different programs at the same time.
- stream a movie to a client while recording (Also FULL HD movies).
- timeshift a movie or TV channel while other tv channels are recorded. (Unsure if done by server. I think it will be client process)
- be able to have enough processor power to allow 2 clients to be connected the same time.
I was thinking to build the server arround an AMD X2 4850E processor. Mediaportal is as far as I know not a multiprocessor task but I have choosen the processor as it only consumes max 45W.
However I just found the general requirements listed on the tv server info and there is stated a minimum of CPU 1.4 Ghz.
Does this means that it could all work with a AMD Sempron 3000+ ?
