Interesting read, this, I've only used MediaPortal thus far for playing files already on my PC.

Do you have any recommendations for a HD dual channel tv tuner? Thanks.

Change the currency at top right of screen.

It's not cheap, but certainly gives flexibility.

+1 for BlackGold tuners. Got a BGT3600 (Dual T2 and Dual S2). Drivers in Win7 are simple and channel changing is pretty quick in MP. It wasn't cheap though - best part of £170.
