I have loaded MP1 and follow the documentation to get it configured. All is working fine except the TV part.
I followed the procedures to down load a EPG (mc2xml). I also setup the plugin to down load the channel guide and clicked on import. I got a date and time stamp plus a total channels imported but total programs imported at 0 and Import status is blank.
If I start MP and to TV I don't get a picture.
MP seems to be a great software and looks like it's going to do everything I want. I can't wait to get my client working on another computer for the second STB that I have. But I need to get this going and I'm sure I'm missing something to get this going so I hope someone can point that out to me.

thanks

    Hello :)

Please follow the guide in the wiki:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_..._TV_Setup/4_TV_Guide_Setup_(EPG)/XMLTV_mc2xml

In particular, you need to map (link) the guide data to channels that your tuner(s) can receive.
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...ide_Setup_(EPG)/XMLTV_mc2xml#Channel_Mappings

If I start MP and to TV I don't get a picture.
I guess you haven't configured codecs.

If that doesn't help you'll need to post log files, because without them we haven't got enough information to help you:

Right, so you have a Colossus. You can't scan for channels with a Colossus, because it doesn't have a tuner. You'll either have to create each channel corresponding with your STB channels manually... or maybe use the SchedulesDirect plugin to import your lineup.

OK. I read up on using SchedulesDirect.
    Thanks...

Can I use XMlTV plugin and the mc2xml.exe program to populate the channels?
I was running NextPVR before loading MP1 and that is what I was using on that. And If I have to do it manually is there an example posted on the procedure on how to do it?

    thanks

To create the channels? No. You can use the XMLTV plugin to import SchedulesDirect data translated to XMLTV by mc2xml. However, you can't use it to create channels like you can with the SchedulesDirect plugin.

I was running NextPVR before loading MP1 and that is what I was using on that.
As above: you can use it to import guide data, but you can't use it to create channels.

And If I have to do it manually is there an example posted on the procedure on how to do it?
It is pretty simple, but rather time consuming if you have a lot of channels.

    Some background:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...guration/03_TV_Channels/Add_or_Edit_a_Channel

    Specific instructions:
    1. Go to the TV Channels section of TV Server configuration.
    2. Click "add" to add a channel.
    3. Enter the channel's name and number. Note the number does not have to match the channel's number in the STB, but it usually makes sense to use the same number.
    4. Click "add" to add a tuning detail to the channel.
    5. Select "analog" and click OK.
    6. Configure the tuning detail:
      1. Enter the channel's number. This must match the channel's number in the STB.
      2. Select the correct video and audio source. Refer to the bottom of the first post in -->this<-- thread for more info. Note it is critical to get this right. Most people use HDMI #1 [HDMI] or YRYBY #1 [component] for video, and SPDIF #1 [HDMI] or SPDIF #2 [S/PDIF] for audio.
      3. (All other fields including country can be left as defaults. They don't have any effect.)
    7. Click OK and OK again to save the tuning detail and channel.
    8. Repeat instructions 2 through 7 for all other channels.
    9. Expand the TV Channels section and go to the TV mapping subsection.
    10. Select your Colossus up the top.
    11. Select all channels on the left.
    12. Click ">" to tell TV Server that your Colossus can be used to tune the channels.
Note: if you have lots of channels, I'd recommend to create and test a few channels to make sure they'll work before going ahead and creating everything.
When you view/play any of the channels, you should see the current channel that the set top box is tuned to. If you want TV Server to control the set top box - ie. tell it to change channels when you change channel in the front end - then you will need to install and configure a blaster.

After reading your post I did get 4 TV channels added and even Got the EPG to work (I didn't use the SchedulesDirect plugin) but I'm not getting any sound.
When I add the channel I pick HDMI#1 [I connect my colossus via an HDMI cable] and SPDIF in #1. According to the post about colossus support this should work. It that not true?
