TV skipping (1 Viewer)

I have quite an annoying situation where if I go into MyTV mode then the audio and video skip and appear jerky. If I pause for a few seconds and play (so I am watching a few seconds behind 'live') then it goes away. Is this something anybody else is experiencing?
I tried making space on my HD and defragging it and it doesnt help. I also added in an extra gig of memory and still no help. Any ideas?
