I have an HTPC setup and working to play different kind of media. I would like to add the ability to watch/record TV. I have a Dishnetwork receiver that is capable of feeding 2 TV. The receiver is controlled by RF remote and is in the attic above the Garage. My question is: Is there a Tuner/Capture card that I can use to view AND control the satellite feed?

I am relatively computer literate, but I know little about TV/Satellite terminology and hardware.

Please any advice would be appreciated, if you need more info, please let me know.

HTPC specs (as close as I can remember):
Win XP Pro w/SP2
Intel 3.0 GHz CPU
ATI Remote Wonder (RF based remote)

No sat tuner cards can legally receive Dish Network or DirecTV itself but you can use any card with audio/video inputs to capture the output from the Dish/DirecTV tuners.

The problem here is the RF remote control. IR is common but I'm not aware of RF options that work with Dish receivers. That doesn't mean there aren't any, just that I haven't seen them yet.

Actually, my sat receiver is RF based also, what I would need (and I haven't looked to see if there are any) is an RF transmitter for the PC that would control the sat receiver.
