Hi guys. Noob to MP here. I have an AthlonXP 3000+ with 512 MB RAM, Soundblaster Audigy and ATI TV Wonder Pro PCI. I didn't see that my card was supported in the "officially supported list" so I submitted all my info to the developers-I received a response from one of them stating that I needed to have the ATI MCE encoder installed. I didn't know what that was until I realized that it's one of the packages that has to be installed with the latest version of the ATI MMC (v9.14) which I have installed already.

Anyhow, on to my problem: When I try to view Analog channels with an antenna, I can do so without problem with my ATI TV program, however when I try to view TV on MediaPortal, I get a message that says "Failed to start TV. Unable to create graph".

Is anyone able to help? Thanks again!:D

Edit: Sorry, it seems I left several pieces of crucial information out, not the least of which is that I'm running Win2k Pro :( I just did some searches and just found out that everything but "My TV" works on win2k. Doh! Guess I'm gonna have to shell out for Windows XP

.....Bummer

after a few days of fair, sometimes flaky, MP performance, I just started getting the same error on Win XP pro. Searching the forums now, but I don't think its related to 2K...

I wish I knew-I've only received one response from anyone, and that was from one of the team who created this-and he only told me to try to install something I already had...:(

Edit: You're right-I just installed Windows XP Pro on that same computer and got the exact same error. Too bad the team is silent-I'd sure like some help getting this working

I have this same card, and can't get it to work at all with MP, I'm going to try to get it going using the MCE enc information you listed above. There is a procedure to add native support for your card listed on the main site using a tool called "graph-edit". Have either of you tried this procedure?

so here is the link to dload graphedit:

http://www.digital-digest.com/software/graphedit.html

And here is the link for using graphedit:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/directshow/htm/usinggraphedit.asp

And here is the link for the wiki article about this from MP site:

http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Add_TVCard_to_natively_supported_list

As you can see, that applies to "DVB" cards, not analog. I'm going to try my best to tinker and get this working tonight. I will report if I have success.

Out of curiosity, what card does your device show up as in the MP configuration utility?

I've already seen graphedit, but don't have the slightest clue of which inputs to 'hook up" to which outputs.

As for your question, everything "shows up" correctly (I.e. "ATI TV Wonder Pro", however I can't start because of the graph error mentioned)...

I'll try to tinker with it too....

Ok, so I've done some research and found other graphedit examples, and here's what I came up with. I got almost as far as someone with a working ATI 9600 AIW card, except I wasn't able to connect the output from the multiplexer to the mpeg-2 demultiplexer, so I punted and left it the way it was....

It's not working yet in MP as it says there are "no tv cards found" (I also modified the "CaptureCardDefinitions.xml" and created my own entry), but it *is* a step in the right direction. I have no idea what to do now though :(

...if only I could figure out how to upload an image, I could show someone...

I punted. I've bought a WinTV150 PVR and should have it in a few days. Hopefully I can get that one to work...

Looks like it's MythTV if this fails
