TVDatabase rebuild (1 Viewer)

Hi,

For various reasons (some connected with instability in Media Portal) I have had to do a complete de-install and re-install (MP got to the point where it simply would not talk to my TV card - I'm not reporting this as a bug as I may have simply got things wrong in trying to alter card configuration into groups).

Anyway, the de-install did not delete TV shows I had already recorded but it did delete the TVDatabase. The .TS and .XML files are still in the Recordings folder but they don't show up under Recorded TV within MyTV.

Is there any way to rebuild the database using the contents of the folder?

If not, how can I get MP to play the .TS files? Clearly it can play .TS files since that's how it saves them but dragging the file into MP doesn't work.

Finally, I see that there is an option to specify that recordings can be made in MPEG format rather than .TS. If I record an HD channel show in MPEG, are they saved in MPEG2 or 4 (i.e. will they still be HD format and playable as such using an external player?

TVServer Config\Recording settings\database import, this will pull in previous recordings to the database, as long as they are in your recording folder.

Personally would leave at ts format, some people have reported problems with mpeg and there is virtually no difference size wise.

Whichever format is broadcast, then that is what it is saved as, there are no changes done by TVServer\MP itself.

    Regards
