Tvguide reminder & genere colour coding (2 Viewers)

Hi,
I have just installed MP 1.2 and I am very pleased with it so far.

Is there a way to set a reminder on a program in tv guide, so it alerts me or switches to the program when it is due?

also what options do I have to make tv guide colour code the programs based on genre?

Yes, there are settings for them. I can't check where at the moment (as I'm at work) but I believe you'll find them in the TV Server Configuration.
I think they are both under the TV Guide settings.

Thanks. I found the reminder function for the TVGuide.

As for the color coding of TVGuide, I have looked at the code in TVPlugin and the color coding function seems to have been commented out for some reason. For the time being I have hardcoded the colour coding based on genre in TVPlugin and compiled it. It works fine for me for now.

The main problem I now have is that subtitles always default to ON when I start TV. I don't want subtitles disabled, but I want it to default to off when I start TV.

Yes, this is something that we need to improve. A good workaround is to set your preferred subtitle language to a language that is never available. That way subtitles can stay turned on, but they won't be shown unless you select a language that is actually available (and they get hidden again when you change channel).
