Recently bought a MCE compatible remote (TVisto) and it works OK in XP MCE; even when using Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player it works ok (pause, stop, etc...).

I've seen in HArdware devices that is recognized as HID keyboard and mouse, not as MCE remote.

My problem starts with MediaPlayer; to get this remote working I've got to enable Sceneo Remote; if not, only mouse and cursos seems to work.
With Sceneo remote enabled, almost every key is working, even colored ones (teletext); but some of them (very important ones) are not.

In MP 1.0 under XP Play and pause don't work
In MP 1.0 under Vista Play, pause and stop (don't know why).

I've tried Keyboard Input Plugin to map these keys, but they don't generate any scan code.

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks a lot, but I finally figure out what was happening. I needed to enable the Sceneo remote and then just change some key codes to the standard multimedia key codes found everywhere. Now it works like a charm.

Thanks anyway!! :D

Please can you tell how you did it. I have the same remote and pause and play buttons aren't working. I tried in remote configuration, mapping section but I can't change nothing.
Your help will be gold for me.

    Yeah, sure!

You should edit the configuration file, called "Centarea HID.xml" and there you have to change the values for Play/Pause or whatever with the code of the remote controller. In this case, Play and Pause both send the Multimedia Play keycode (179).

    I hope it helps!!:D

Thank you very much I had already found the configuration file called centarea, and now I have got all buttons running pretty well. The only two things I have not got working is start mediaportal with the remote even with the mptray plugging activated and wake up the computer with the remote from suspend.

The first one is a mistery for me as well

For the second one... well, if you keep on pressing the wake up button you will get your PC woken again... but it's a matter of luck. I've thought it can be something related to the polling time or something like that.

    Regards

With Eventghost you can get start MP with the remote. The Eventghost controller loads in the start of Windows and you can configure to start MP with either the green button or the power button, ot any button you prefer. Of course can configure another button (Home button for example) to Stand by (suspend) the PC and with the same wake up it.

Ok thanks I will give a try to eventghost, I was a bit lazy with eventghost because now the remote works almost perfect out of the box, but have the start and wake up problems.
