I've just installed MediaPortal for the first time and tried to run the TV-Server configuration but it popped up a message saying the service wasn't running and asking to start it now.

I checked the windows services list and it showed it as automatic and started.

If i click yes I get an error window saying "TvService not started"
I check in the windows services list again and it still shows it as started.

I've included a couple of log files i've found, i hope this helps!

It's probably caused by a windows update which erroneously wiped the IPV6 localhost from your hosts file. Windows defender was the culprit.Check your Windows hosts file to make sure it still has entries for IPV4 & IPV6 for localhost.

There's a thread on this here somewhere, but can't find it at the moment.
