It works, but very slow and the processor power is permanent up to 100%! I don't find any Info about TVServer power requirements??

no High Definition or complicated stuff, just serving divx to the network and 1 tdt usb tuner in tve3.

    Hi,

Just to give you an impressing.

    I have a Pentium 4 (3Ghz) Socket 775
Recording two items takes about 20% to 25% of the processing power.
    Setting to MPG2 (not TS)

I do not know why as the only thing which has to be done is recording the MPG2 from TV-Card to Harddisk.

    Greetz,
    Ben

It will be used only as TV Server and in the moment nothing else ...

I'll make some closer test the next days ...

I think if you only want to use your "1400 Mhz ??" as TVServer (watch TV, recordings ... ), there shouldn't be a problem to get it work

    TvSERVER only with MS-SQl and w2k with DVB-T runs fine on a 500mhz p3.

Dual 500mhz and MP GUi will run local client .

Haven't tried VISTA32 yet, the hardware would cope but what OS overheads would deplenish resources.

Obviously the ancillaries are important , NIC with low cpu overhead so a good gigabit NIC works fine.

No software encoding cards would work at this low level.

I have an old celeron 333mhz buried somewhere, I ,may dig it out to see how low you can go.

thanks for that info. that probably means that my amd 1400 may not do so bad after all

i see u have several usb DVBT, are they in the tv server computer? im a bit worried about it being usb but for 39euros i want to start doing tests and someday renew everything and go pcie

    thanks
