TV-Server Version: N/A
MediaPortal Version: 0.2.30
MediaPortal Skin: Default
Windows Version: MS Vista Ultimate
CPU Type: Intel Core2 Duo
HDD: 300GB SATA
Memory: 2GB
DVB-S Card: DTV-DVB 1027 DVBS BDA ( with latest Twinhan drivers from their website)
I have just got this card and have tried multiple softwares to get it to work. Only ProgDVB worked for me, but it doesnt support my remote control that came with my DVB-S card.
I installed MP to get over this problem. (worst comes worst I will write my own plugin to get my IR Remote to work).
First Problem is that my DVB-S card is not natively supported so I went on to creating the Graph as suggested on MP website on how to add new cards. GraphEdit does not allow me to connect the MS DVBS Network Provider to the DTV-DVB 1027 BDA Tune Filter with following error message:
"These filters cannot agree on a connection. Verify type compatibility of input pin and output pin.
No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection. (Return Code: 0x80040217)"
I have searched the forums here and some people with the same cards have gotten the same error and were not able to create the graphs. But my hope didnt die out and I searched more.. and found that some people just modified the capturecarddefinitions.xml file and have gotten it to work with MP.
My second problem is that I searched my installation directory of MP and could not find that file. I searched all the xml files and not a file with the word "capture" or "card" or "definition" was found.
I searched even more and heard that some people have gotten it to work with TV-server and went on installing that. The installation file comes only in "msi" file format and it has problems with Vista. I have read somewhere that registry tricking works in order to make msi run with administrator's account. (Its funny how my computer is with only one account and it has been given soo called "administrator" access but still have to right click and go "Runs as Administrator") . I tried that registry trick but with my bad luck the registry entry was not even there..
I hope someone with good heart would like to help on this matter.
Thank you.
