Hey All,

I have a twinhan 1034 (using Mantis chipset I think)

I always get the problem where the scrambled channels arent working.

Originally I thought it was a CAM issues - using Irdeto 2.21 (The purple One) so got a new one and that seemed to work for a while but now it is not working.. I then thought it was a smartcard issue as the chip ioon it was fairly scratched and already had indents on it from the STB box supplied by provider and I thought maybe the pin readers on the CAM were aligned differently so couldnt read the card properly so I got abrand new card from provider and that seemed to work ok for an hour or so.

Now I'm back to it not working again. I found most of the time to get it work I had to stuff extra plastic inside the CAM to push the card onto the pins to read it properly and this seemed to make it work all the time but now doing this isnt happening.

I've ordered a matrix Reborn CAM to try but Im wondering if maybe the problem is with the card itself not reading the CAM being inserted at all? I know its not a media portal problem as another program doesnt detect CAM but Ive been pulling hair out trying to figure out why it wont work.

I thought since the thing would work now and then that maybe the card is ok. Im using it under Vista Ultimate 32 with 1.0.5.9 drivers.

Can anyone suggest ways to look at the actual hardware itself and try and figure out if the CAM isnt being detected properly?

Anyone else experienced similar issues? Thanks

You ever managed to sort this one out ?

I have the same card and same CAM, but for some reason I cannot get encrypted channels to show...

Actually I discovered one of the pins on the CAM reader was bent and I guess the intermittent problems I was having meant the pin was slowly bending over time which would be why it worked now and then only.

However I still felt the hardware wanst great and the drivers buggy so in the end I ended up getting a firedtv dvb-s box and to be honest, this was so much better. Worked great all the time and the remote it comes with works great with Mediaportal.

Sorry I couldnt be of more help..

The firedtv I got came from here, digital everywhere - digital TV cards for PC, Laptop and HTPC Yes more expensive than the twinhan but worth every penny in my opinon. It is even recommended by Media Portal as being compatible, recommended hardware to use.

Thanks for the reply. Its a bit of a pity, because I jost got the brand new card a week ago. It said on MediaPortal that the card is compatible, and I thought I'd go for it rather than the FireDTV/FloppDTV because of the price.

I'll definitely have a look - but thanks again...
