I searched but I could not find an answer to this.

Can I have 2 Mediaportal installations?

Say a Regular stable client install to my C drive.
Then a SVN Client-TVServer install on say my P drive

Would this configuration be OK?

I know I would have to have separate shortcuts. I just don't know what registry entries there are and if they will matter or confuse things in this scenario.

Hi Tide, (what a funny word play ;-) )

I am not sure whether this is supported by Mediaportal itself. But you could use a Software Virtualisation. This is free for personal use from Altiris Get SVS, Now! | Altiris Juice. It does not create a virtual machine with separate OS like vmware but rather mulitple software environments. Parts of the registry are overlayed or hidden out. As well as various contents of directories. This should do the trick.

It used to be possible. I think it still is.
Basically, just install MP twice to two different folders.
Of course you can't run them both at the same time though.

I'm not sure if the virtualisation software would work, since MP relies a lot on DirectX and exspecially DirectX exclusive mode. Then again, I haven't used much VMWare so don't know much about it.
